Reinventing artist

Steal reinventions.
Nothing was ever original.

1.“All creative work builds on what came before. It is right there in the bible “there is nothing new under the sun.”, (Ecclesiastes 1:9)”

2.“Garbage in, Garbage out. Hoarders collect indiscriminately, artists collect selectively. They only collect things they Love.”

3.“Start copying not plagiarising. Plagiarism is trying to pass someone else’s work off as your own. Copying is about reverse-engineering. It’s like a mechanic taking down the car to see how it works. The human hand is incapable of making a perfect copy.”

4.“Side projects and hobbies are important.”

5.“Write the book you want to read and write what you like.”

6.“Don’t throw any of yourself away. Keep all your passions.”

7.“Be nice. The world is a small town.”

My top seven guides to building a creative life.

The author Austin Kleon is an inspiring artist who shows that artists and creative are human too and need to follow certain guidelines in order to survive and be sane.

The influence the book has had on me is to come out of the little shell I always hide myself in, not to doubt my strengths and abilities and to challenge myself and maybe I will realise my unknown passions. Reading the book during assignments in my creative development module has boosted my mind to open up a third eye and see things differently. I learnt new ways to improve my thinking in creativity. I now venture into my hobbies and they are becoming stronger, though I don’t shut down my other passions as life is not as short as it seems. I am permanently deaf and dumb to negativity though my ears are never shut to the man upstairs.

The book is the easiest to read because it goes straight to the point. Pick your favourite top guide lines to creativity… http://austinkleon.com/steal/
